No matter what our political affiliation is, or what we believe about the wars are troops are involved in, we need to make sure we keep our troops in our thoughts and prayers this holiday season and especially this Veterans Day. I received this picture from a friend and it really stuck me how alone they are. Fathers, sons, mothers and daughters will not see each other this year. Instead they will be doing their duty and helping to protect the United States and the freedom we have.
What we must also not forget is the families they left behind. Their sacrifice is just as important as the troops that are overseas. I can’t even imagine how hard it will be for many of them to be without their loved ones, or how hard it is for their children to be without their parent. I would challenge people who know families that will be apart this holiday season to do something extra special for their families.
At More4kids we believe in a strong and happy family. Both our soldiers overseas and their families will be in our hearts and prayers this year. And to all the casualties of Fort Hood and their families, and the heroes that rushed to their aid of their fallen comrads, there is a special place in our hearts this Veterans Day.
Here is a prayer I received from a friend that I would like to share with everyone:
“Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. Amen.”
